Andrea Dole: Battling Lyme Disease
Donation protected
Lyme disease is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected ticks. It is estimated to affect 300,000 people a year in the United States, but it often goes undiagnosed for years. Lyme disease can affect multiple body systems and produce a broad range of symptoms. There is a lack of awareness about the disease and although awareness of Lyme disease is rising, funding for research and development of a cure is greatly needed.
Andrea Dole has been diagnosed with Lyme disease since Febuary 2016, but doctors have estimated that she has had it for 14 years based on medical records. Doctors had actually misdiagnosed her with at first. Andrea is active in the community spreading awareness as seen in the pictue above attending the "Stomp out Lyme walk" in Buffalo this past March. As you can imagine, paying for all medical expenses for this chronic illness is not cheap! That being said, all donations are greatly apreciated!
