Andre's Story
On March 1, Andre Johnson nearly lost his battle with addiction when he overdosed. He and his family—parents Manijeh and Glenn, and sister Sabrina—need help now.
Andre spent a month in UCLA Hospital in an induced coma to reduce the swelling on his brain. He woke from the coma, and was transferred to a facility to get him off the ventilator.
He is now breathing on his own; however, there is still fluid on his brain and he needs additional surgery before being moved home to Wisconsin.
Andre’s family has remained by his side during his recovery and have exhausted their resources. They can no longer afford hotel rooms. Glenn is living with his daughter and her roommates. Manijeh sleeps in a hospital waiting room chair.
How You Can Help
The Johnsons need our support. Donations will help pay for the medical flight from California to Wisconsin, help cover the costs of Andre’s physical rehabilitation at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago and will help with housing and transportation costs in Los Angeles.
