Anderson Family Health Care Costs

Donation protected
As many know, the last few years have been rough for us on the medical front. Nicole experienced health issues in 2014 that required a lot of followup and appointments, some that are still ongoing. In 2016, Zach had to quickly have his gallbladder taken out unexpectadly which added to the medical bills. We have been able to keep our heads just slightly above water at this point with Nicole being out of work during this time, but recent events have really put the strain on our family, financially and physcially.

In late January of this year, Zach had a visit to the ER for chest pain. He spent most of the afternoon and evening having multiple tests run. The good news is that it wasn't heart related, but it was a problem. They discovered a mulitiple spots on his right lung. The diagnosis was an infection, likely fungal. They ordered medication that was $1000 per round to take care of the infection, but after 2 rounds of meds, there still wasn't any improvement. A follow up CT Scan showed additional growth in that time frame.

Appointments have followed with a pulmonologist to look closer at the condition. After running some more tests, it was recommended that Zach see an infectious disease doctor to determine a new treatment plan for this infection, and left open the possibility of needing to biopsy the lung to further understand the infection that is taking place. This appointment with the infectious disease resulted in more tests and a still unconfirmed diagnosis. The doctor is checking for multiple infection possibilities now, including tuberculosis. The possibility for lymphoma hasn't been completely ruled out either. A return trip to the pulmonologist is scheduled for mid-May. At that appointment a biopsy will most likely be scheduled for the right lung.

After 3 months, Zach still experiences chest pains, shortness of breath, and fatigue after a half-day of activities.  Even with good insurane, all of this has raised the medical bills to a level that is unaffordable on a monthly basis with our income. It is hard for us to seek help for this from people we know, but it has become clear we cannot do this alone.

We are thankful for all the people who have helped over the last few years, both in terms of financial help, prayers, assitance with rides to appointments, and general care for us. We appreciate any help we can get, and please continue to pray that Zach's condition will resolve.

All funds raised from this will go directly to pay for already accured medical bills and upcoming treatment costs in the next month.
