Record CD & Publish Poetry Book

My name is Amy Lloyd, I am an inspirational singer, poet, writer, speaker and spiritual seeker.  I have spent the past 25 years learning about life and healing from very broken life circumstances. Along that path of healing I began sharing my learning through my music and through writing.

For 6 years I wrote and self published an 8 page, art-driven, inspirational newsletter, then in 2011 I started a daily poetry blog: Life: acoustic and amplified this blog contains/combines my own poetry and amazing poetry from other writers whose words touch me deeply.

I am now ready to publish my own poetry and need funds to get that goal accomplished. I plan to publish two books of poetry this year, if possible. One focusing on "the dark night of the soul and grief" working title "Doxology in the Dark" and the other a more general one titled after the blog: Life: acoustic and amplified. 

The other project I am ready to work on is a jazz music CD. It is my life long passion and desire to record songs which touch me deeply and which, I believe speak to the human need of love, relationship, grief, joy, brokenness, healing, and hope. There is no greater medium than music to touch us deeply in all the places we are in life. I have always been a  singer and have known since childhood that music is my life's true work and passion. It has not been an easy path for me to bring my voice into the world and I have had to to fight long and hard to do so. The past year I have speant in rehearsing and preparation for my goal, which is to record, or at least be in process of recording during my 50th jubilee year! My (51) birthday is in May - and so I need to get started right away on this project to make my goal. 

The money I raise will be used in accomplishing these projects. I will be working with Hay House/Balboa Publishing to publish my poetry books, and will also be joining some business/poetry groups which will allow me to promote my work, create poetry worshops and speaking/singing engagements. I will also be using the money for studio time, copywrite costs and musicians for recording and bringing an amazing musical project into the world. 

These projects are my life's work. I have spent many years doing the difficult, rewarding, often brutal, work of healing, in every circumstance I have found myself in. I believe hope and encouragment is needed in the world. I have been waiting for the right time to take it to the next place, and have been patiently waiting for the funds to do so. Someone I shared my frustration concerning being able to financially do these projects, encouraged me to write this campaign, and I am so grateful for her belief in me and for her words of telling me I am needed to balance out the influence of the Kardashians of this world! Her words gave me the courage I needed to ask for help!

We who have experienced something so valuable as healing, must be brave enough to stand up and let our voice be heard!
