Hi everyone! My name is Sarah. I have Cystic Fibrosis and received a double lung transplant in November 2011. Now that I have a new lease on life I am pursuing my dream of having a gift shop for the gothic and horror community. I am currently selling online and at conventions and have been well received within the industry.
The photo above was taken at Horror-Rama in October 2014. I had just been released from hospital and had to wear a mask to protect myself from bacteria. I ended up back in hospital a couple weeks later and then most recently, was admitted for the month of December while we dealt with rejection and infection. I am currently home on IV therapy and requiring oxygen with ambulation.
I had originally set-up a campaign to help fund the opening of a brick and mortar shop, but with all the rejection and infection issues lately , I realize it is not possible for me to work outside the home. Instead, I would like to maximize my online presence and add a gift basket delivery service. I have used the $450 I raised from the first campaign towards advertising and web design and am now looking to raise $5000 towards expanding the gift basket side of the business. This includes, new licensing, new product development, more webservices, professional fees, and stock.
The Gift Crypt helps me provide for my little furry family and the addition of the gift basket service will fill a need for a shop of its kind in the Toronto area.
I cannot express enough my gratitude for helping me to realize my dream.
