My name is Amicia Hopkins I am a 26 year old engineer from the UK Midlands and I will be sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2019/20. I have been racing dinghies for years but this is a whole new ball game. Sailing across the Atlantic in a 70ft racing yacht against 10 other vessels sounds both terrifying, exciting and exhilarating all at the same time. This is going to be one of the hardest challenges I have taken on physically and mentally but I cant wait to get on that boat though to get there I'm going to need your help.
As you can imagine it costs thousands to simply get a berth on one of these boats let alone the cost of training, kit, insurance and travel to and from the ports. This fundraising page is to help me personally to achieve this amazing opportunity that I just cant let pass me by. My late husband and I discussed doing something like this together before he passed away and I'll be damned if money is going to stop me from doing this. If you can help me out it would be fantastic!
