Amelija's Journey

Donation protected
When Amelija was born, everything was picture perfect. She started growing and reaching milestones just as any baby. Then six and a half months later, the nightmares began. She had a seizure. We immediately took her to the hospital and she was diagnosed with West Syndrome. She was treated successfully but in her case, it developed into Epilepsy. infections....and it seemed like the nightmare would never stop. New conditions and illnesses were unfolding faster than we could catch our breaths. A "mosaic version" of Turner Syndrome, hyper kinetic syndrome and then, after being treated for a urinary infection, the intolerance of her medication lead autoimmune encephalitis. This was extremely dangerous to her and was very scary. And although treated for encephalitis, she never fully recovered from this. On top of all that, Cerebral Palsy began to surface. This last June, the Massachusetts Technology Institute discovered she has a mutation of Cacna1.

We discovered there is a hospital Novosibirsk Russia that treats Cerebral Palsy with M2 macrophages that produces encouraging results. It consists of up to three injections with approximately a six month gap between each injection. After each injection, she needs intense physical therapies to enhance the results. So in July we flew to Novosibirsk Russia to the Cerebral Palsy and Central Nervous System Diseases Treatment Center where Amelija was treated and has been in daily physical therapies since. We DO see results in her actions. We are excited. But we need your help. After the first injection and therapies, we have become financially exhausted and her next injection is scheduled for December. As well, the hospital recommended her following therapy be done at the Adeli Medical Center in the country of in Slovakia. They are famous for an extremely, intense three week effective therapy that gives the best results in conjunction with the macrophages treatment. We need to raise at a minimum of $20,000 to make this happen.

Amelija now 5 years old, can still not sit, crawl or walk and her speech is impaired. But she is a lovable, joyful and patient little girl who tries her very best to conquer her disabilities. She has regular physical therapies and speech therapies. But she needs more than that to improve.

Please, any amount will be helpful. We thank you very much.
