Amelia's Recovery

Hello Friends and Family,
This page is meant to support Tim and Jody Mugford and their two sweet daughters Adelyn (6) and Amelia (3). Over the first 3 years of little Amelia's life they have faced many medical challenges. As just a baby she was diagnosed with Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) which nearly took her life. Here is a link to a video that speaks about their journey:

Since the time of this video and more specifically in the last few weeks the Mugford's have been away from their home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and back at the IWK with Amelia. She has gone through multiple surgeries including two brain surgeries to address increased pressure on her brain. Here is Jody's last update:
Amelia is out of surgery and it went very well! “Uneventful” is how the surgeon described it and we said, after all we’ve been through, “uneventful” sounds wonderful. The shunt was not our preferred outcome but we are trusting that this is the best thing for her right now . We thank God that the surgery went well and we pray for no complications. Please pray this is successful in lowering the pressure and that she has no short or longterm complications like infection or shunt malfunction.
We continue to believe that God is healing Amelia and bringing her through extraordinary things. Faith often goes against logic and sometimes we must sound misguided by the beliefs we hold onto. But it’s in those scary, uncharted places that God chooses to stretch, teach and guide. I think one of the hardest places to sit must be the moment before the breakthrough. In order to experience a miracle, you have to find yourself in need of one. You don’t know if it’s just around the corner, and all around you feels dark. So we keep walking, step by step, until God brings us around the bend.

Please consider supporting Tim and Jody in this tough time. They been through so much and have not asked for a thing. This time away from home has been expensive and even harder for them as it keeps them separated from Adelyn.
We are believing for miracles with them.
