Ambulance fee TN to NC for Rick

My husband Rick Triplette was in a motorcycle accident while we were on vacation in Cherokee.
This happened on the Tennessee side of the mountain. He was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville TN.
His pelvis was broken in 3 places which needed surgery. Also has a fractured right shoulder and elbow. He is still in the hospital but will have to be transported by ambulance once he is well enough to NC rehabilitation center at Wake Forest. The fee for the transport is $6000. They will not file insurance, they want cash money.
Please help us get my husband home.
