Amazing Grays

The Gray Family in Southwest Harbor, Maine is attempting to cope with multiple health issues:  Chris (son), the amazing musician and artist, is dealing with nerve damage in his arms that is preventing him from painting and playing instruments.  Even typing is excruciating!  He's traveling back and forth to Boston to see his doctors. 

Jim (Dad) sustained an eye injury in January while working on the beautiful bodhrans (Irish drums) that he makes.  He has trauma-induced glaucoma, and he is in a lot of pain, as well.  Jim has been traveling to doctors in Portland and Ellsworth.  He has had one laser procedure to relieve pressure in his eye.   There is the possibility that he will lose sight in the eye. 

Beckie (Mom) is doing all the driving to medical appointments while still trying to work a busy full-time job as a social worker.  She has a shoulder injury of her own, sustained on the job, that she deals with as best she can.  

The Gray Family needs our help NOW.  The funds raised in this campaign will help with traveling expenses, lost income from time away from work, co-pays and other medical expenses not covered by insurance.   The family could also benefit from drivers and general assistance with chores at home. 

The Amazing Gray family has done so much to help others:  playing in musical groups, setting up for and promoting other musicians' performances and their work, running sound for other musicians, coordinating concert series, moving equipment at Trad School....the list goes on and on.  They never ask for anything in return.  It's time to give back to them!
