I want to introduce you to a very special little girl that has touched so many hearts....My 7 year old niece Amanda Powers
In August 2016 Amanda was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Since that diagnosis she has undergone blood transfusions, bone marrow tests, MRI’s, CT’s, Spinal Tap, Central Line placement, numerous blood tests and of course she started Chemo Therapy. She now has to watch her blood sugar levels and take insulin as needed. She is taking 5+ medications a day. During her stay in the hospital they did an MRI and it was discovered that she also has a Brain Tumor. At this time the Brain Tumor is not operable, and but we are all hoping and praying that she will be able to do a Chemo Therapy Treatment that might shrink the tumor or even possibly have it surgically removed one day.
My sister Shari is going to be staying home from work during this time to take care of my niece and her family, but this will take the household down to 1 income which will make things even more stressful for the family. I am looking for any donations to help my sister and brother-in-law with all extra costs that the future will hold for my nieces treatment, travel to other hospitals (may it be in Saskatchewan or elsewhere), and of course anything that will help Amanda through this difficult time as she is unable to return to school this year.
