This fund has been set up in honor of Amador "Mimi" Montelongo, who is currently fighting for his life.
Diagnosed in 1997 with Hepatitis C, Amador has had multiple treatments throughout the years to combat this liver destroying virus.
In 2014 Amador's condition began to rapidly deteriorate, and was diagnosed with End Stage Liver Failure. Amador is currently being treated by the Liver Transplant Team at Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Center, and is listed with "UNOS" United Network For Organ Sharing. www.unos.org
As a result of Amador's rapid deterioration he has been unable to work, the loss of his income has had a huge financial impact on his family. The current and continued expenses of medical care and medications has added to the emotional and financial burden.
While Amador and his family anxiously await a liver donation, they fear the expenses needed to cover the cost of the transplant and the possibility of exhausting their major medical life-time benefits.

Amador's greatest joy is spending time with his wife Santa in Galveston, cheering for all of Houston's sports teams next to his boys (Austin, Adam & Christopher) and attending his grandson's (Noah) baseball games and watching his granddaughter (Isabella) dance. He is their greatest fan.
