Alyse's Recovery Fund

Alyse Ornelas is a 30-year old mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, and coach. All who know her can’t help but be affected by her infectious smile, spontaneity, and love for life.
On September 26th, 2017 at 23 weeks pregnant, Alyse was admitted to Clovis Community Regional Medical Center with shortness of breath and chest pain. After being unable to determine the cause, her condition worsening, and the loss of her baby, she was transferred by helicopter to Stanford University Medical Center and immediately underwent a life-saving procedure. After countless tests, including a heart biopsy, Alyse was diagnosed with Giant Cell Myocarditis.
Since her initial diagnosis Alyse has undergone countless medical appointments, tests, and procedures, all culminating in a heart transplant, which she received on March 2, 2018.
Although we are not able to aid Alyse in her physical fight towards recovery, we can make an impact financially for her and her family. All funds raised will go towards Alyse’s medical bills, ongoing treatment, travel for appointments, and to help ease the financial burden during her time away from teaching.
Gofundme.com now collects no fees to use their platform and even if the projected goal is not met all funds raised will still go to the Ornelas family. The payment processor does charge a 3% + $0.30 fee (which is standard across all crowdfunding platforms). In lessening the financial burden for the Ornelas family we can allow them to fully concentrate on the healing and recovery that is so needed at this time. The Ornelas family would like to thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers.
