My name is Chantelle Landais, and I am the writer/producer of 'ALPHA HIPPIE', a 30 minute HBO style comedy series on a mission to redesign and more accurately depict racial and sexual diversity in the media.
Please help my fellow producer Shannon Morton and myself on our mission to bring this show to life, as we enroll our community to help fund the pilot, scheduled to begin filming April 21st, 2017.
Directed by Daheli Hall, 'ALPHA HIPPIE’ is a 30 minute HBO-style comedy series designed to poke fun at the disillusioned southern Californian pseudo-spiritual youth.
The series centers around new age douche-bag / weed farmer, Sage, who divides the commune in Topanga Canyon that he shares with his best friend Max, and their multiple girlfriends, after Sage accuses Max of stealing the concept of Kale chips to launch his fad health products line to success.
Sage makes a deal with big-time drug lord / gangster rapper, Honey Bear, to train Sage as his protégé in his pride-fueled ploy to one-up his now ex-best friend, and take back what he believes is rightfully his: Alpha Hippie status.
We want to be a stepping stone; saturating the media with powerful characters of various ethnicities and self-expression. This will inspire and empower our audience, as well as other artists produce similar attitudes and content.
Together we can change the face of the media.
There can be an African-American lead, who isn't just the token, or the underdog...
There can be a lesbian who isn't a man hater, a b***h, or a butch. That sexuality can not be defined as simply one way.
That even a criminal can be an inspiring artist in disguise. A gangster can be educated.
We are spending the month of March fund-raising the budget we are allocating towards the pilot. We will use the funds for basic production costs such as locations, colouring, equipment, etc.

We are so thankful for the support you are giving in helping bring our work to life. We plan on going to great places with this production, and I am so excited to show you the magical community that is Topanga Canyon, California.
