...with a broken heart, I update my Mom's GoFundMe page with the news of her passing. Alma passed away Saturday December 17th in her beloved Mexico City. My brother and me were by her bedside and got to say Goodbye before her heart stopped about an hour later. Our hearts are broken in 1000 pieces. Thank you to everyone who donated to help us do anything we could to save our Mom. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thanks to you all my mom was able to wait for me to get my passport renewed to go say goodbye and give her one last kiss.

Update de mi mami. Aunque la operación fue exitosa, mamá aún no está fuera de peligro. Están bajando sedación, tratando de que respire sola y vigilando que su corazón, pulmones y riñones aguanten la colostomía. Tmbn le están dando drogas para que aguante su presión arterial. Sigue en terapia intensiva, sedada y entubada, en palabras de su cirujano... grave.
La cuenta (que va en 700,000) sigue aumentando.
Porfavor, lo que puedas donarnos, nos ayuda muchísimo! Si todos ponemos un poquito juntamos mucho y logramos salvarla. Odio pedirte $ pero esta vez es mi única opción para que mi mami pueda estar un poco más de tiempo en terapia intensiva, salga de peligro y me la pueda llevar a un hospital de gobierno.
Si ya donaste y puedes compartir esto con tus amigos, en tus redes sociales, y así talvez algunos de tus conocidos se animan a ayudarnos.

Nuestra Mamá es una Guerrera. Esas son las palabras que vienen a nuestra mente cuando escribimos esto.
Nuestra Mamá Almita, que muchos de ustedes conocen, necesita de tu ayuda. Nosotros necesitamos de tu ayuda.
El Domingo pasado, mamá esta en casa enferma con bronquitis. Se paró para algo, resbaló y se cayó. El doctor la revisó y dijo que solo era el golpe y que estaba bien. A la mañana siguiente no se sentía bien. Se sentía débil. Al llegar la noche, estaba delirando y a la mañana siguiente casi inconsciente.
La llevamos inmediatamente al Hospital y resultó ser que si se había roto el brazo, lo cual era el menor de los problemas, también estaba anémica, deshidratada y con neumonía.
Desde el diagnóstico permanece sedada e intubada en Terapia Intensiva, esperando que responda.
Nuestra mamá, es la mujer más fuerte y bella que conocemos. Es un Angel. Su nombre lo dice todo, Alma. Y es lo que ella es. Toda un Alma. La más buena de todas.
Nuestra mamá vive en La Ciudad de México y no tiene seguro médico. La cuenta del hospital asciende cada día cinco mil dólares. Nuestra mamá depende totalmente de nosotros y las cuentas son demasiado para nosotros. No tenemos idea de cuánto tiempo más va a seguir en el hospital. Estamos esperando que despierte pronto.
Porfavor, no estaríamos pidiendo ayuda si de verdad no la necesitaremos. Si nos pueden ayudar -con cualquier cantidad- les estaremos eternamente agradecidos.

Even though our moms surgery was a success, she is still in critical condition. Doctors are slowly bringing her back from sedation, trying for her to breathe on her own and monitoring that her heart, lungs, and kindeys were able to handle the colostomy. She is also on medication to keep her blood pressure stable. She is still in ICU, sedated and intubated. In the words of the surgeon, she is still in “critical condition”.
Our bill now up to $35,000+ keeps going up every day.
Please anything that you can donate to help us, will be of so much help. If each of us adds a little, we can raise a lot and we can save her… we really hate asking for money, but at this point it is our only option, so we can keep her in the ICU, out of danger and we can take her to another hospital.
ANYTHING will help us at this point. Anything.

My mom is a warrior. Those are the words that come into mind when I begin to write this.
My mom, Alma, which some of you may know, needs our help. We need your help.
On Sunday, my mom was at home ill with bronquitis. She got up for something and slipped and fell. A doctor checked her and said she just had banged her arm hard, and that she was fine. By next morning she wasn't feeling very well. She was feeling weak. By the evening, she was delirious and by morning she was almost unconscious.
She was rushed to the hospital and it turned out she had a broken arm, which was the least of the problems, and she was anemic, dehydrated and had a pulmonary infection.
She has since been sedated and intubated in ICU, waiting for her to respond.
My mother, our mother, the strongest and most beautiful woman I know. She is an Angel. Her name, translated to English means “Soul”. And she is. She is all Soul. The kindest one of all.
My mother lives in Mexico City and doesn't have medical insurance. The bill is adding up quickly. My mother depends entirely on my brother and myself. And we can't keep up wth the expenses. We have no idea for how long she will be in the hospital. We are waiting and hoping she will wake up soon.
Please, we wouldn't be asking if it weren't necessary. If you have it in you to help with any amount, it will be greatly appreciated!
