Allyson Hughey Hanson Medical Costs

On December 20, 2018, Allyson had brain surgery at Vandy to remove a tumor deep in her brain.   Surgery was required because the tumor was growing and putting pressure on the area of the brain that controls motor functions.  They successfully removed the tumor but found out new years eve that the tumor was malignant.  AstroCytoma...Malignant.  Now, they will take the next step and start chemo orally and radiation will begin very soon. Allyson will continue to receive treatment at Vanderbilt and Dr. Reid Thompson is placing her with Neuro-Oncologist Dr. Paul Moots, and Radiologist Oncologists team. While this is not what we wanted to hear we are still choosing to trust God and His plan for Allyson in all of this.

Allyson is devastated and feeling broken but God told her He Has This and She's Not Alone. So please continue to Praise our Savior for such a quick and speedy discovery and removal of this tumor because that is step one and He did that at warp speed! Pray for continued healing and for the tumor to NOT GROW...pray that My body responds positively to the chemo pill and upcoming radiation. We will be asking about available trials specific to this type of brain cancer so we need guidance in that also. She will be returning to Vandy soon to begin all of this so keep my kiddos in your prayers. I love you all and we feel the prayers so please keep them coming.

At this time we don't know what the costs for medical expenses will be for the treatment plan.  We are expecting the worst and praying for the best.  All funds raised will be put toward medical and travel expenses incurred so far and for the future costs.
