Ally's Miracle

Donation protected
It is with great honor that we can announce that ALLY RECEIVED HER MIRACLE on April 29, 2018. If you do not know her story, here is a brief summary. At the age of 14, Ally had a stroke and was airlifted to UCSF medical center where she was diagnosed with end stage pulmonary hypertension. She was told she has two weeks to live and a lung transplant was her only hope for survival. She received a lung transplant on August 18, 2009 however those lungs quickly went into chronic rejection due to silent aspiration. Ally needed a second lung transplant. God granted her a second miracle on September 10, 2010. This time, she hit the floor running and had a full life. She became a medical assistant, a donate life ambassador, and spoke at hospitals, schools, and churches to raise donor awareness. On May 23, 2017, while she was working out at the gym, she felt short of breath. At the emergency room she was told she had pneumonia and a few days later she was told she had A4 chronic rejection. At only 22 years old, she was facing death, and UCSF, and other clinics were not willing to take the risk of a 3rd lung transplant. Only 27 done in the world. Ally’s family and friends did some research, and found a young man who had a 3rd lung transplant at Duke. Ally reached out to him and he helped her get in touch with a Duke Surgeon. We sent a video of Ally, and he called and said “We want her!” Although the family had raised quite a bit of money, the cost to fly her by ambulatory flight was $28,000 which took most of what they had raised. And while they celebrate the miracle of her 3rd lung transplant, the financial stress is overwhelming. The family is required to live in North Carolina for a long period of time. Ally’s dad has to continue to travel back and forth from California to North Carolina which is very expensive as well. The family asks only for your prayers. They truly believe God will provide. Ally’s friends and family are asking for any financial support you can give them to allow them to stay close to Duke during this very long recovery. It would also be so appreciated if you share her GoFundMe link with your friends and family. Ally’s fiancé Mason proposed to her on February 10th at Sarah Duke Gardens here in North Carolina. Ally’s goal is to recover so she can marry her childhood love, start an organization to pay it forward, and live a life that is glorifying to God. Her ultimate goal is to pave the way for others to have a 3rd time lung transplant if needed. But she needs your help to recover successfully and that can only happen if she can stay in North Carolina until she’s strong enough to safely return home. Thank you so much, and God Bless all of you! Jeremiah 29:11
