Allie's Angels for Liver Transplant
Allie's Angels are raising money to help support her liver transplant.
At two months old, Allie was diagnosed with the liver disease Biliary Atresia. If left untreated, children with this disease do not typically make it past 2-3 years old. The first step in her journey to recovery was the Kasai surgical procedure, in which part of her small intestine was connected to her liver to allow proper bile drainage . Unfortunately after a few months of close monitoring post surgery, the Kasai was deemed unsuccessful. Allie's liver is still not functioning properly and her condition will worsen with time. Her only chance at survival is liver transplantation. Kaiser has transferred Allie to Children's Hospital LA. They have evaluated her and she is currently being placed on the liver transplant list. Please help us fund the money to cover her medical expenses. We want to thank you for all of the support, love and prayers you have been sending our way!
The funds donated will be used to finance Allie's journey to recovery:
Medical Costs - She will be a patient of Children's Hospital LA for the next 18 years. Labs, doctors visits, the transplant itself, ICU stay, and follow up care.
Medication - She will be on anti rejection medication every day for the rest of her life.
Time and Distance - Being treated in LA comes with lots of missed time at work and lots of gas back and forth.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEART!
So as many of you know I was approved to donate the left lobe of my liver to Allie. This is amazing news because we were getting very worried that she was not going to get the transplant in time. The doctors have given her only a few months left because her liver is already failing. So we are absolutely elated that she is going to get this life saving transplant that she so desperately needs. Surgery is officially happening on Tuesday July 28th. They will be taking a portion of my liver at USC Medical Center, throwing it on some ice and driving it across town to Children's Hospital Los Angeles to place into Allie. Please send love, vibes, and prayers to my baby for a quick and speedy recovery. It's go time. Again, thank you so much to everyone who has helped our family out during this difficult time. Love you Allie.
We've had a lot going on this week. It's very difficult to keep everyone updated. I've decided to start a Facebook page to streamline all communication about our darling girl. Please feel free to follow her story at Facebook.com/alliesophiasangels. Additionally, you can follow us on instagram to see more pictures of her journey. @rydri and @analisa_rebecca. Thank you so much for all the love and support. It means the world to us!
The Drivas Family
Thank you so much for all of your donations! We have been so overwhelmed by the amount of Angels that have come to Allie's rescue. We had no idea how generous everyone would be and are truly humbled. We have decided to raise our goal amount in order to be sure to cover the lifelong medical expenses Allie will surely face . Allie's dad, Ryan, is getting tested in the next few days to hopefully donate half of his liver to Allie. Luckily our liver is the only vital organ that has the ability to regenerate itself. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts during this delicate and painful process. The doctors are hopeful that Allie will have a new liver within a month! Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and hope to be able to share the love that we have been given. Blessings to all.
