Parvo, pneumonia, patellas... OH MY!

Tax deductible

Parvo, pneumonia, patellas, oh my!

Here at All 4 Paws, we’re up to our torn ACLs in some frightening medical expenses and we need your help to get back on the yellow brick road!  Because we commit to the animals that need us regardless of their physical conditions, our current balance due at our vet is closing in on $20,000!!!!  Our specialty vet, VRC in Malvern, is amazing to us and our animals, and has not refused us service despite such a hefty bill.  We continue to save lives daily and unfortunately, with that, this bill just keeps growing.  We need your help to get back in the black and to keep saving the special animals that need us!

To give you an idea of some of the good we’re doing...

Adele – being treated for meningitis, which she contracted at the commercial breeding facility she lived at her entire life.
Leo – after showing up at an overcrowded high kill shelter as a stray, Leo came up lame at his foster home with a torn ACL. He had the necessary surgery to repair his ACL and is completely weekly physical therapy treatments.
Prince – you all know the story of this sweet boy and our fundraising efforts! Prince came to us with a torn ACL and after having surgery to repair it, is now completing weekly physical therapy treatments.  His GoFundMe has raised over $6,000 and his surgery and physical therapy costs still aren’t fully covered.
Poncho – Poncho came to us from an overcrowded high kill shelter with his two sisters and broke with parvovirus his first day at his foster home.  He required several days of hospitalization to treat his illness.
Vivian – Vivian and her siblings arrived at their foster homes from a high kill shelter, and Vivian ended up breaking with parvovirus a day later.  She's required multiple days of hospitalization.
Baxter – The stress of the shelter and transport did a number on this poor pup’s lungs and immune system, and he developed pneumonia which required several days of hospitalization and treatment at VRC.
Meeko – After being rescued from a high kill shelter, it was discovered that Meeko had luxating patellas which need to be surgically repaired.
Nina – Nina came to us from an overcrowded high kill shelter with an upper respiratory infection, a urinary tract infection, and was feeling really crummy. As she started to feel better, it became apparent she was having a difficult time with her hind end. After specialist consults, it was determined she has hip dysplasia and will need treatment.
Booney – Rescued from a commercial breeding facility, Booney was nearly hairless after having a serious skin infection that had never been treated. Forced to have countless litters, Booney was overbred and neglected.  She is now getting the treatment she needs to get her back to good health.
Kayla - Our poor, sweet Kayla was struck by a car and her pelvis was shattered.  She will need surgery on at least one of her hips and a great deal of care and rehabilitation to get her healed up and back in good health.
Copper - After being rescued from a commercial breeding facility, it was discovered that Copper had advanced cataracts making him nearly blind in both eyes.  Copper will be having surgery to remove his cataracts and is expecting to regain at least some of his sight.

These are only just a few of the most recent cases of extensive medical care our animals have needed, and as you can imagine, each invoice is hefty. We refuse to turn our backs on what these dogs need and will do whatever it takes to give them just that.

If you’ve never experienced the sticker shock of specialty vet care we’d like to provide an idea of what some basic treatments cost…

One physical therapy appointment to rehab an ACL tear: $100.00
One night stay at VRC, receiving supportive care for parvovirus: $857.33
One x-ray: $287.00
One consultation with an orthopedist: $170.00
Patella repair: $3,800-$4,200
ACL repair surgery: $5,200 - $5,700
Cataract surgery for one eye: $3,475.97- $4,324.62
Pre-op Bloodwork: $258.39
Anesthesia: $420.00

We understand $20,000 is a big ask. The amount of money we raise will not affect the care these animals will receive. It will, however, impact our future rescue efforts. Without funds, we cannot continue to save the lives that need us. Please help by sharing, liking, and commenting on this campaign. Skip a trip to Starbucks and donate that $6.00 towards our efforts instead. Every donation no matter the size is appreciated… every dollar counts.

All 4 Paws could not accomplish its mission without supporters like you! We are forever grateful for the outpouring of support we receive every single day. Rescue is not easy, but it is worth it. Because they all deserve a home!
