Alfonso’s Chemo, Radiation & Expenses

Alfonso had been suffering from back pain, and he was initially diagnosed with a fractured T4 but they also found a growth on his spine. He went in for surgery to cement the fracture and take a biopsy of the growth to see if it was cancerous. After serveral tests, the results came back positive for multiple myeloma bone marrow cancer. They planned to do 10 days of radiation to remove the growth, and just a few days after starting  they found that the cancer had spread to his blood and is now multiple myeloma bone marrow/plasma leukemia. He finished his 10 days of radiation and of Wednesday he was admitted to Karmanos Cancer Institute of Detroit. He is currently undergoing 96 hours of Chemotherapy and hoping to come home Christmas Day. He will then continue with outpatient treatment while preparing for a bone marrow transplant (hoping that he does not need to find a donor).

He is expected to be off work for at least 6-12 months and is only receiving a portion of his regular pay. All of the funds raised will go directly to Alfonso for his medical bills and to help support his monthly bills for the time he will be unable to work. Even if you can’t help  donate, prayers work wonders as well!
