Alexander Marley Memorial Swim-a-thon

Donation protected
The Alexander Marley Memorial Swim-A-Thon is a fundraiser that will support the Alexander Marley Memorial Fund for Culinary Students. On the evening of September 6, 2018, our head coaches of our team came face to face with the senseless murder of Alexander Marley on the Telegraph Wal-Mart parking lot in south St. Louis County. Since that horrific night, our head coaches have joined hearts with Alex's family and friends offering comfort, support, and prayers. As a result, the Gateway City Avengers swim team, along with Alex's family, would like to honor Alex with this swim-a-thon. Alex, who would have been 30 years old this year, was a fellow competitive swimmer for the St. Peter's Rec-Plex Sharks, and later, settled into a career as a gifted chef. At the time of his death, Alex was the executive chef of Andre's Banquet Center. Alex Marley exemplified genuine hospitality. He dedicated his life to both nourishing and nurturing everyone he encountered. With this said, we invite you to participate in any way you can. 100% of all donations and pledges raised will be given to the St. Louis Community College Memorial Fund for Culinary Students. Swimmers will collect pledges from family, friends, and neighbors for each lap (2 pool lengths) swam. Sponsors can also make flat donations to the fund as well.

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible in memory of Alex and to support the worthy scholarship fund established in his name.
