Help Alex, 20 Beat Stage 4 Lymphoma

Alex is 20 and a Jr at FGCU in the engineering program. Three months ago he developed a cough that got continually worse until he sought treatment on July 6th. A routine x-ray found a mass in his right lung. Pet scans showed numerous tumors in and around both lungs. On July 21st Alex was hospitalized with a partially collapsed right lung and severe pneumonia. The biopsy found stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma. A procedure to try to open his airway in the collapsed lung was aborted and the oncologist has taken over the treatments. His best chance to beat this rapidly growing, aggressive, rare cancer is a new drug called brentuximab which uses the body's own immune system with chemotherapy to kill the cancer cells. This new chemotherapy medicine , which causes the lowest damage to the body, is $4500 per treatment and not covered by insurance.
Alex cannot work because he is too sick and healthcare related expenses are piling up for the family as we lean into the fight to save Alex.

Alex's father, Brian, recently left the corporate world and is currently self-employed.
