Alek Cuellar Family Fund

Tuesday, October 12, 2016 changed the Cuellar family forever. Alek Cuellar, daddy to 4 beautiful children and husband to a wonderful woman, was tragically killed in a car accident as he was driving home from work early that morning. He had gotten done working overnight from Gerdau Ameristeel in Wilton and was headed home to help his wife, Michelle, get their children ready for school. He didn't make it. As he got close to Muscatine, a deer came from the ditch and entered the truck through the windshield, striking Alek. His truck then hit a tree.

Alek was a Proud Father, Loving Husband, Caring Son and Brother, Amazing Friend to so many.
People would describe him as gentle, kind, funny, understanding. His smile was so welcoming and when you saw it for the first time you felt as though you'd been friends forever. This man did not know a stranger.

We are asking for your generosity in helping this family cover everyday expenses such as groceries and gas, morgage and car payments, medical and other bills, etc. An education fund has been set up for the children as well. Michelle has been a stay at home mom with their kids  as still has 2 of their 4 children at home. As Ethan (4th grade) and Natalie (1st grade) are at school, Michelle is home with Jacob (toddler) and Zachary (part time preschool). Zachary, who is autistic, goes to preschool in the afternoon. Alek and Michelle both knew how important and somewhat necessary is was to be able to have him at home during his first few years until he was ready to attend school. Being able to stay home with Jacob has given her the opportunity to take the children to and from where they need to be each day.
