Alano Mallorca is situated in a very popular and accessible area of Palma de Mallorca.
We are aware that a large amount of the population in the grips of addiction. The demographic is widespread, of all ages and people from all walks of life. Alcohol, Drugs, Gambling to name a few. This a common problem but very few ask for help. We attempt to make this process comfortable.
Since the opening date we have been able provide an invaluable service to a number of individuals who walked through the door. All had hit a point where addiction to substances such as Alcohol, Cocaine and Heroin had over powered their lives. This had left them in a sensitive state of desperation, feeling of loss of direction and hopelessness.
Understanding how they feel and where they are at, the Alano Mallorca team members (who have lived in a life of addiction and come out the other side) can relate and be supportive without judgement. The team paired with the comfortable private feeling of the Alano Mallorca premises, the powerful concept identifies itself.
The individual can enter our discreet premises 12 hours a day, talk with the Alano Mallorca team and visitors in recovery, read literature, eat a hot meal and feel safe. Information is available on various 12 Step programs which run daily. The idea is to provide a buffer from active addiction into a recovery program.
Treatment centres can charge over 12,000€ for a 28-day program, whilst very effective, only a small percentage of people in need can afford such.
Addiction in all forms generally destroys the financial health of an individual.
Therefore, many who struggle remain in their addiction and try to manage it themselves without ever finding a way out. This is evidently very painful for a person and can be very stressful for family and friends.
Alano Mallorca provides its service on a voluntary donation basis. Therefore; support and a way out are available to every man or woman who recognises a problem. This is our core and the reason for being a non-profit organisation.
We must stick to our concept without deviation and continue to assist alcoholics and addicts get clean and sober.
Maintaining focus and our concept, I am confident countless lives will be saved.

“From a young age I threw myself into a lifestyle filled with Alcohol and Narcotics. During the 17 years that proceeded, I built a career as a chef, working in restaurants and on board super yachts. Don´t get me wrong I had some amazing times, but I found it very difficult as time went on to not consume alcohol and drugs in clearly inappropriate situations.
The consequences of my ever-increasing insane behaviour became more and more severe.
I would lose or walk away from incredible job opportunities. My health, finances and relationships suffered greatly. My consumption forever increased. Where alcohol was involved, blackouts became more frequent. Most of the time I woke up to a sense of confusion and trying to piece together where I had been, and who I needed to apologise too.
I rarely had one or two and went home, regardless of my responsibilities to people and work.
Although aware of the problem I found it extremely difficult to successfully stop this destructive way of life. I was trapped in a vicious cycle.
Gratefully I found success through support groups, talking to others who have been through a similar experience. The fear that life would become boring and small without Alcohol and Narcotics was proven wrong, my world got bigger and my obsession to constantly get intoxicated disappeared. I´m very grateful and content with my life today, and I´m one example that change is possible, a day at a time”
