FUTURE OLYMPIC HOPEFULS!

Both Sophomore Emily Alanis and Freshman Olivia Kerna, volleyball players at Indian Land High School, have been selected to train with the Under Armour Volleyball Factory National Training Program. Emily has been invited to attend the Volleyball Factory Select Winter Training during the NCAA Volleyball Championship in Ohio at the Columbus Volleyball Center while Olivia has been invited to attend the Volleyball Factory Winter Training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This incredible opportunity will have these athletes benefiting from a rigorous 4 day training program that will allow them not only to receive national recognition from college recruiters but also help them reach their highest potential as volleyball athletes. They will both work one-on-one with professional collegiate coaches to polish their skills in serving, attacking, blocking, digging and setting while competing with top female high school volleyball athletes in the country.

Fundraising efforts are underway for these two athletes to get them to their destinations and to help alleviate cost. The goal is to raise $5500 for both athletes which will cover the cost of transportation, room & board, training, registration, and insurance costs. Both ladies will be working to earn the money in addition to this Go Fund Me page so they can easily accept donations from our generous community as well as friends and family who are spread out across the world. The money raised here will be split directly in half to assist both athletes in their efforts and our deadline to complete all fundraising is November 23rd.

Their ILHS Coach couldn’t be more thrilled to have her athletes participate in this program with the Under Armour Volleyball Factory. Their coach supports fantastic opportunities such as these to strengthen her high school athletes while growing the sport and program as much as possible in the community.

Alanis: “It's an honor to be selected to train with college coaches alongside such an elite group of players. I've dreamed of getting to this point. I've worked hard to develop my skills and help my team, and this recognition just reinforces the drive I have to push myself.  My goal is to play at the highest level that I can in both beach and indoor volleyball. Nothing exposes character like sports and I hope to show that I have not only the talent, but also the character to make my coaches and teammates proud to have me on their side of the court.”
Alanis has also played on CUVC’s semi-national club team as well as Sand...

Kerna: “To be chosen for this opportunity is such an honor. I can’t wait to see how my skills compare with some of the nation’s best volleyball players and receive the training I need to take my skills to the next level. My dream is to play in college and the Olympics. I will continue to work very hard and stay focused so I can accomplish these goals.”
Kerna has played for both Union Select Academy on their Power Team as well as CJV’s semi-national team.

Even if you are able to donate $5 and/or simply share this page on social media to get the word out, both Emily & Olivia will both be forever grateful for your generosity and support!
