In Memory & Honor of Larry Alligood

I've left my original story below, however, this campaign has taken on a new meaning for me and I want to highlight that. On Saturday the 19th of August my Uncle, Larry Alligood, passed away after 80 years of life and several years of suffering with the terrible disease of Alzheimer's.

I would now like to change the whole purpose of this campaign so that it can be done in honor and in memory of my Uncle Larry.

My Uncle Larry was a somewhat quiet person, but he touched all of our lives in a simple, quiet, and lovely way. He had such an expansive knowledge of the most fascinating subjects and it was all driven by his love of reading. He taught himself everything he knew.

If you heard a bird sing, you could ask Uncle Larry and he could tell you every bird based on just it's song. He also had such a love of music, but he was particular about it! He loved jazz and classical the most and up until last year he would still dance and sing along to Frank Sinatra.

I hate the fact that my Uncle Larry had to leave us this way. For his mind to be ravaged by Alzheimer's. I wish that we already had a cure for this disease so that my Uncle, two of his brothers, and his father did not have to pass this way.

Please, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association. It would mean so much to me, my family, and all that families out there that have been affected by this disease.

Thank you so much!

Hi! I'm Alana and this year marks my 30th birthday.

I wanted to spend my 30th year doing all sorts of fun and crazy challenges, but I also wanted to do some good. So, I have decided to raise money for a cause very dear to my heart - Alzheimer's research.

My family, like so many, has been affected by this terrible disease. I've lost many loved ones to Alzheimers and some are still suffering from it today.

All of the funds that are raised through this campain will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association - an organization that provides Alzheimer's care, support, and research.

I cannot tell you how much your donation means, not just to me and my family, but to the thousands of people and families that it will support.

Let's all have the same vision as the Alzheimer's Association - to see a world without Alzheimer's Disease.

Thank you!
