Airborne studios is an independent studio run by two Manchester based performers.
Fay and Bea opened the studio 5 years ago when we moved in to an unit in bad repair and worked super hard to create 3 dance studios with little money but a lot of love and hard work!
The majority of our studio users are struggling artists, community dance group and local dancers. The fees we are able to charge just about keep us going and here lays our problem.
When we first moved in we were told that the gas fueled heating system which runs throughout the whole building wasn't in use. So we made other arrangement to heat the studio with electric heaters. Unfortunately unknown to us the landlord was running the system through daily. After 4 years of not getting a gas bill we get a whopper!! A 4 year back dated bill!!!
After a lot of back and fro with the landlord and getting legal advice we have had to agree to pay this bill of over £3000.
We started a payment plan and then this January we have a HUGE hike in rent. We were given very little notice and it was either accept the increase or move out at the end of the month.
Bea and I have never asked for help before but without your help to cover these large unexpected bills we fear we will need to close the studio.
As you can imagine we are broken hearted after all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears we have put into building the studio!
Please, please help us!

We will also be running some fund raiser events at the studio including a showcase so if you would be up for volunteering your time please let us know!
