Hello! My name is Aingeal and I am preparing to start auditioning for companies in Europe. My goal for this Summer is to attend a program in France where many master teachers and directors of ballet companies from there (and from other places) will be teaching. There will be opportunities to audition, learn new things, and also to better understand what it is like to begin to pursue a professional career in ballet in Europe. It may not be the last time I go, but it is an important step to getting oneself out there and in the market, so to speak. I will also be studying French language, visiting Paris, and writing about my (short) trip on my blog. I hope you will consider donating to my GoFund me and supporting an American in France!

France is expensive to visit during the Summer season, so I am asking for people to help me get there and to be able to afford housing, food and transportation. I am working now to pay for the tuition and the balance of my expenses, but, as a scholarship student, most of my time is spent in classes and working (part of my scholarship agreement), so little time is left to work a regular job and study. Nevertheless, I have supported myself, with help from my mom, all year in New York, and have continued ballet and regular school. Those of you with similar experiences will understand how great it is to get a new pair of pointe shoes, let alone street clothing or a hairstyle (never happens!). So any amount you will contribute will be greatly appreciated!

I am working with a view to possibly staying in Europe, attending one of the transition programs for dancers there, or a company, so, your continued support and interest will be acknowledged and never forgotten, somehow. I will make frequent posts and updates to my
blog which you are invited to follow at aingealscarletta.wordpress.com. This will require a sign-up to receive (a passcode) updates to your inbox; no donation is required; I would like to keep my friends informed.

This program is very reasonably priced at about $1,100 And includes sessions with all of the visiting guest teachers for advanced students.
I am asking for $4000 and I hope that I can raise the other half through various other routes, including working. If you know of any short term opportunities, please let me know-I am willing to do whatever I can to make this a reality, and I need the deposit of $600 by June 10 to save my spot.

The possibility of being able to go to this intensive is very exciting-a real life learning experience, and  the exposure a young dancer looking for work can get from this is limitless. Please donate any amount you can afford (I will return the favor one day), or please SHARE if you cannot afford to help me-I really appreciate the support!

Most people do not know that Rose Repetto made her first ballet shoes for her own son, Roland Petit, in 1947 in a tiny workshop near the Paris Opera. Rose later gained worldwide acclaim for creating the "Cendrillon" ballerina flat for French actress Brigitte Bardot's for her 1956 film "Et Dieu créa la femme." I wear Repetto's as they are the most comfortable ballet shoe I have found. They are also very reasonably priced for such a well made shoe. Typically, a pair will last for about a week-the more you dance, the more pairs you use. Professional dancers may go through a pair (or two!) per performance. Repetto shoes keep their shape and are very durable due to their special construction and quality materials. Weeks later, you can still put them back on, even after you think they are shot, and voila! They're back!

Did you know: In 1832 La Sylphide, created for the Paris Opéra by Philippe Taglioni, was the first ballet to be danced in white tutus?
I'm so grateful to my recent supporters, only $3830 to go! I hope to have my deposit in by June 20th (19 days!) Please donate or share my campaign! Thank you!

Hi. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon! I have been taking class at Steps in NYC. I have two main ballet teachers there: Karin Averty and Elena Kunikova there. One is French, the other is Russian-they are both very good. Karin is a former soloist from the Paris Opera Ballet. She spent over 30 years there before joining the San Francisco Ballet, then she returned to The Paris Opera Ballet at the request of Rudolf Nureyev, who missed her greatly. She also has introduced me to the French style of dance which I love very much, now. I hope to learn more about it this Summer. France is a hotbed of ballet!!! I hope you will consider donating to my education campaign (only $3,880 to go!). Thank you.
