£920 of £3,000 goal

Raised by 26 people in 6 months
Since I was 6 years old I have been training karate and from the age of 9 years old I have been competing competitively. I spend my time training, and teaching younger athletes with the same dreams as me and try to be a positive role model in their lives.

 With karate recently making it into the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, it has given me huge inspiration to make this qualification especially with my recent success of beating the current world silver medalist, an athlete I highly respect, and climbing in the rankings. In order to qualify I must accumulate world ranking points, and with the current situation im facing in karate this is my only way to do so,  but to do this I have to travel to all the corners of the world to compete, and as a self funded full time working athlete, this goal is unfortunately unreachable.

I intend to compete at as many Premier League competitions as possible, and as the leading senior female for England in the rankings, build my points up for the Olympic qualifications and national selections and build on my international success. This starts with the Tokyo Karate1 Premier League in Japan in this October. The cost of this trip alone is £900 with flights and hotel.

The commitment that is required to achieve this goal is heavy, this year alone I have had to not only travel across the country, from Manchester to Grimsby to Ipswich to compete domestically and train, but also compete in countries such as Turkey, Germany, Spain and Austria. All of this has been been self-funded, with help from my family, whilst teaching and training myself. Everything that I earn goes back into my karate fund, including training and travelling,  however next year it won't cover the costs that are needed to make this dream possible. I have spent years relying on the support from my mum and dad and my own earnings to fund my karate passion, missing out on many things in life to do so, but these are the sacrifices I'm willing to make for my goal.

So i'm now humbly asking for your support to help me achieve this goal. I have already climbed 42 places in the rankings this year alone from simply attending the few competitions I can afford. I have won 5 Europeans medals and 1 World medal, I am 14 times English National Champion and 9 times British champion, and I fear without funding or financial support I won't be able to achieve my life long dream. The more competitions you attend - the more points you get, and on a self funded budget, it makes it impossible to climb the rankings.

I will give you a rough idea of how much a karate trip costs, I have just paid £460 without spending money to attend the Karate1 Premier League in Berlin. Each European Karate trip costs around £500 Countries in other continents cost around £1000- £1500

Next year the countries I will have to pay to travel to include;
Paris - France
Dubai - UAE
Salzburg - Austria
Montreal - Canada
Rabat - Morocco
Shanghai - China
Tokyo - Japan
Moscow - Russia
Santiago - Chilie.

As you can see this is going to be a monumental amount. At these competitions I will be competing against fully-funded athletes and teams as a self-funded athlete with a passion that keeps me fighting.

Any donation you can make to help me with this goal will be greatly appreciated, Thank you so much for your support.
