AIDS Care Ocean State
Love...that's everything. There are so many charities that deserve attention, but AIDS Care Ocean State is one that I am more than happy to promote. This diagnosis can be devastating. I have decided to compete in King of Queens in Providence, RI to raise money to help support those who are burdened with AIDS. ACOS has their own website which you can check out.
The King of Queens competition also is a demonstration of self-confidence, acceptance, community, and of course show-womanship. I have not always been so accepting of myself...I even hated myself for many years because I was gay, I am "different," because of my looks. Struggles with depression and anorexia darkened my life until I realized that I am my own best friend. When I learned to love myself and confidently own my strengths AND especially my weaknesses my life changed. Competing in King of Queens is my opportunity to show you exactly what I mean.
My gorgeous and highly talented mentor, Ania Bangkoks, is guiding me along this journey. I need to thank her for teaching me what she knows, and more importantly for simply being their for me and our community.
