Team Char

I would like to introduce you to Charlene. She has been in my life for 42 years. In all that time this woman has asked nothing of me but my friendship despite the horrible journey she has followed. Charlene is a true vision of survival. She was adopted into a family at a young age to people who should never have been allowed to have children and yet she rose from the ashes. At 16 years old Charlene was diagnosed with a benign pituitary tumour. This in turn has lead to several brain surgeries and a series of related health problems that she battles everyday. A week ago this dear woman suffered a brain bleed that has caused irreversible loss of her vision. Upon hearing this news the tears flowed and yet she states “this is not the end, I just have to live life differently” Charlene currently is raising her 9 year old granddaughter (from birth) on her own and is determined to keep doing so. Unfortunately with the current turn of events, her journey will be a hardship emotionally and financially and that is the reason we are here. Charlene will qualify for many benefits, but it is never enough and a woman who has suffered so much and given even more deserves all the help we can give her. Charlene is a proud women, but I know her gratitude for any help given will be forever in her heart. Thank you for all your support! She will always be my hero!
