Running from 13th - 15th April, 2018, The
Africa Open Science and Hardware (Africa OSH) Summit is a grassroots effort to bring together researchers, technologists, hacker hobbyists, educators, government officials, and start-up innovators from across Africa and the rest of the world for three days in Kumasi, Ghana.
Our goal
Our goal is to create conversations and sets of actions on OSH (Open Science & Hardware) among African actors, and between them and the international community, in order to adopt OSH principles and practices appropriate to our context. We envision OSH to play an important role in establishing locally adapted, culturally relevant, technologically and economically feasible production in Africa that can lead to equitable progress on scientific research, agriculture, health, education, conservation, technology and entrepreneurship.
We need your help
Our grassroots efforts resulted in more than 350 applications including 80% Africans for our 100-seat conference. With your donation, we can minimize the expenses of African participants by offering free or highly subsidized local transportation, lodging and free meals. If we exceed our goal, we will be able to reimburse travel expenses.
