AFFIRMATIVE ATHLETICS PROGRAM

Since 2005, AFFIRMATIVE ATHLETICS has provided an organized sports program with a strong reading-writing component for 'at risk' youth in Los Angeles juvenile probation facilities.  We have mentored over four-hundred incarcerated teenage boys, instilling our four pillar values of dignity, integrity, respect and honor throughout their experience.

After years in juvenile halls, we are excited to announce our partnership with Renaissance/East LA PAU (LACOE) for the 2017-18 fall and spring semesters!  We will be working with eight continuing education schools with (not incarcerated) probation youth (teenage boys AND girls) trying to transition back to regular high school and/or graduate.  Like juvenile halls, these schools have no organized sports ... nothing bringing their youth or their immediate communities together.  New beginnings all around, indeed.

We are trying to raise money for our upcoming seasons  (team jerseys, t-shirts, student journals, weekly newsletter publications, media, awards, food, etc.).  Your contribution will go towards helping in the development of the Renaissance/East LA PAU probation youth and bridging their communities.

We'd appreciate any support you can give.  Anything helps, fam.  We're trying to build Affirmative Athletics into a bigger presence for our forgotten Los Angeles youth ... because we truly believe in 'no child left behind'.
