RIPL_Effect Research Team (https://www.riplrt.com ) is currently involved in a project to address the respiratory health of people from Puerto Rico in the aftermath of hurricane Maria. Although it has been a year from that devastating hurricane, the respiratory health of Puerto Ricans is still at risk due to possible improper repairs of flooded houses and infrastructures.

The RIPL_Effect Research Team (#RIPLRT) believes that every student can make a difference in society through scientific research.  By integrating students into the scientific endeavors of the RIPL_Effect Research Team, we also seek for students to self-discover their potential.

With your support, students in the RIPL_Effect Research Team will be able to make an impact in people's health and serve as mentors for future students in our research team. In addition, your contribution will help build the scientific foundations for the two main missions of  RIPL_Effect Research Team :

The Scientific Mission:
"provide further insight into the immuno-physiological health effects that airborne pollutants of different chemical origins induce once they cross the human respiratory barrier among susceptible individuals (e.g. people suffering from asthma, respiratory allergies, and other chronic respiratory conditions."

The Mentoring Mission:
"serve as a venue for the students to employ:"

- Inclusiveness (everyone’s voice count)
- Diversity (value and respect differences in perspectives and opinions)
- Integrity (follow strict scientific and ethical guidelines)
- Productivity (input our highest efforts to reach our goals)
- Innovation (open-minded, learn from both successes and failures)
- Excellence (target highest quality of scientific research)
- Collaboration (partnership often yields better results)
- Leadership (intra and inter-motivation and inspiration)

Your generous donation would go towards:

- laboratory supplies

- laboratory reagents

- initiating pilot (small) studies to gather important data that could lead to larger studies

- initiating collaborative studies with colleagues from different disciplines to expose our students to cooperative efforts

- supporting students participation in national conferences to engaged in networking and share findings with the scientific community about our research of respiratory health, including the project in Puerto Rico!

With your support and the RIPL_Effect Research Team,

"one small change can have an enormous impact."
