Christian's Adventures in Laryngeal Cancer

Christian is a near and dear friend to many of us. Between those of us in the various gaming communities, to his FC mates in Final Fantasy XIV, he always does what he can to help people. This time, he's the one that needs our help.

On August 26th, Christian was admitted to the hospital for breathing problems. For a few days prior, he'd been dealing with a sore throat, troubles sleeping, and difficulties speaking (this was believed to be a mixture of sleep apnea and a previous medical procedure to remove scar tissue from his vocal chords.) Upon admission, a mass was found in his larynx, specifically attached to the vocal chords and inner wall of the larynx. Half of this mass was removed for a biopsy, and a tracheostomy was performed.

The next few days were a roller coaster of emotions, as we were informed that the mass came back as an aggressive form of laryngeal cancer. Worst case scenario, he would need a full laryngectomy. They held him at the hospital for the next few days to monitor his condition and make sure everything was healing okay.

Christian was discharged from the hospital on September 1st.  His amazing fiancee and roommates have been pitching in to help him out as much as possible around the house during this trying time. However, no one can prepare for a situation like this. 

To help prepare for the upcoming battle, we've started this GoFundMe. The current goal is an estimate based on lack of insurance, lost income, and other medical expenses. At the moment, we haven't been given much information on prognosis and course of treatment. As we obtain information from his doctors, we will keep this campaign updated. On September 4th, he will be meeting with his doctors for all extra information.
