Adrian's Flight School Funding

My Name is Adrian Jouglet. I was really young when I found my dream. I was born into a single mother household. We weren't wealthy by any means, 3 people were crammed into a small 2 bedroom apartment. My mother is from Europe, so all of her aunts, cousins, uncles, and grandparents live overseas. Once a year, if we were lucky, my mom would somehow manage to scrounge up enough savings to fly us all there for a week to visit. My first memory of an airplane is getting to look out the window as a small child, and seeing a shining sunrise peek up over a sea of blinding misty white as far as the eye could see. It was like floating on a sea in a dream. My young mind felt peaceful.  Thats where my dream started. I wanted to fly planes, and get to see that sea of white again. I wanted to bring people to new places, give them that same rush of adventure I got when I first flew. Since then I've done everything I could to get there.

I am currently half way through my very expensive and extensive education, at my dream flight school, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. I'm studying with a major in Aeronautical Sciene, and a minor in unmanned aircraft systems. I have a part-time job on campus, I've taken out a little over $90,000 in loans, and I have 2 years left in the program before I can get a guaranteed job in the industry. A few months before I'm scheduled to go back to school, my Loan Creditors have just informed me that I have reached the limit of what I can borrow. If I cannot borrow enough to finish the program, then I cannot get a job to begin paying back the loan and I get stuck in a loophole of debt. I have tried scholarships, and begging and borrowing from everyone I know. I am at the end of my rope, so pride is out the door.
