                             The Novelli Family

The Novelli Family started when Adriano and Serena first met 25 years ago in February, in Serena's words it was love at first sight.

Adriano and Serena were childhood sweethearts, meeting and starting their love story when Serena was just 16 and Adriano 17. They very soon welcomed their first born son Nathan when they was just 18 and 19.

They have defied all the judgements made against them being teenage parents and that their love story would not last and have recently celebrated 18 years of married life together.

During their nearly 25years they have welcomed five beautiful children into the world together - Nathan (22), Alicia (16), Layla (9), Theodore (5) and Tobias (2).

Their home is one built upon love, laughter and lots of hard work. Both Adriano and Serena have worked hard over the years building several self employed successful business to support their family of seven. Together during the day they run a child minding facility that sees them care for six under 5s in their home during school hours and up to twelve children after school. Serena is also a mums in business association consultant for Surrey and was recently published in their No1 best selling book along with running a thriving team and Ann Summers franchise since 2005. On top of that Adriano works late most evenings on his cleaning business.

During their 25 years they have watched their family and businesses grow and achieved so many goals and dreams together, traveling together, growing together sharing their joys and sadness together over the years. This year seemed to be their year and they had seen lots of dreams coming true, they was all so happy and excited for all the future had in store for them as a family.

On the 8th of November Adriano suddenly began to feel unwell and was complaining of stomach and chest pains along with sometimes struggling for breath. Believing it wasn't anything to worry about the family continued with their working day and Adriano sort advice via 111 who sent an ambulance as a precautionary measure and Adriano was soon whisked off and admitted to hospital. Feeling more poorly the hospital soon discovered their was fluid around both his heart and lungs. Adriano was kept in hospital for several days for tests to be carried out before being discharged with antibiotics pending results from the tests.

The family once again continued business as usual with Adriano seemingly on the mend and was all much looking forward to Serena's upcoming book signing at water stones on the 23rd November. None of them could have anticipated the news they would receive that day.

                                  The Diagnosis

That morning whilst they was all excited getting ready for the day ahead, Adriano received a earth shattering phone call for the family and was told the fluid from his heart and lungs tested positive for cancer cells and would need to return for further testing.

He has since been diagnosed with metastatic TTF1+ lung adenocarcinoma presenting with malignant pericardial effusion and tamponade along with widespread mediastinal supraclavicular lymphadenopathy. In lamens terms this means stage 4 advanced incurable and terminal cancers of the lungs, heart and lymph nodes.

                                  Treatments

The only course of treatment on offer to Adriano via the NHS is palliative care which includes immunotherapy every three weeks to attempt to slow the process as much as possible and keep Adriano comfortable.

Unfortunately they can not offer any other treatment for the stage of cancer Adriano has.

                        Where YOU can help!!!

Adriano has been given hope via alternative treatments and therapies and has been advised by both his consultant and others that alternative therapy could greatly improve both his quality of life and life expectancy giving the family hope when it felt all was lost.

These therapies would include dietary changes and the use of CBD. Unfortunately though the strength and quantities needed to help Adriano are not available via the NHS and incurs a large cost to the family.

Costing around £235 per week this came as another devestating blow to the family who on top of their stresses and upset were already feeling concerned about finances with the family surviving completely on self employed businesses that are already feeling the strain from sickness, they could not afford the treatment suggested to Adriano and their only hope felt as though it was gone.

Together we could help a family already struggling with worries and stress and at the very least come together to raise enough for Adriano's treatment and alternative therapy.

Please if you can help give this family of seven some hope back this Christmas donate if you can, every single £1 raised will help and if you can not donate please share to help us reach as many people as possible to achieve our target.

We can never know what's around the corner and when our lives could be turned upside down by this destructive disease BUT what we can do is help a family to fight this with all they can ❤️
