Adriana's Battle against Multiple Myeloma

My mother, Adriana Zamudio, began with a lot of pain in December of 2018. The pain in her hip continued in January, and she started limping at that point. The pain was so excruciating that she could not perform her normal activities: drive, sit or stand for an extended period and it disabled her from work. After many tests did, she was diagnosed with Plasmacytoma cancer on March 4th, 2019. 

the treatment at that time consisted  of Radiation Treatment, and after this was completed, the pain moved to the other side of her hip. Further scans and biopsy revealed that the cancer evolved into Multiple Myeloma. She is in the fourth phase of her chemotherapy. Thanks to the chemotherapy the cancer count has decreased, but now comes the tougher part. Multiple Myeloma does not have a cure, but it does have a treatment: stem cell transplant that can allow for life expectancy to be increased from 5 to 15+ years. The transplant is taking place in November and it will require for her to be isolated for about a month because her immune system will be very weak. During this time, the doctors will monitor her and will send her home according to her progress. 

However, she will need to be isolated at home for couple of months waiting for her defenses to get stronger. This step is critical so there are no further complications. 

My mother is such a loving and caring person. She cares about her family and her friends. During this time she feels so powerless because she has always been such a hardworking person. Even at first when  she wasn’t supposed to work, she continued to do so until we finally convinced her that she need it to stop and the Dr. recomended to completely stop working . My mom has always completed the duties of being a home mom and a working mother. She has excelled always providing us with the best life possibly. She is probably one of the most loving and caring people that I have ever met. 

As previously discussed, the upcoming months will be financially challenging since she is disabled from work for a long time. This is why we are here asking for your assistance. The past 10 months have been life changing  but we are hoping for the best and we trust that this procedure will extend her life much longer and we get the best of her for many years to come. Mi mama Adriana Zamudio fue diagnosticada con cancer Myeloma Multiple en Mayo del 2019. Todo empezó a finales del 2018. Para Enero del 2019 el dolor le empezo a afectar tanto que no podia completar las actividades del día a día como manejar, sentarse, o estar parada por mucho tiempo.  esta condición le impidió continuar con su trabajo. Después de muchos exámenes le dieron el primer diagnostico de cáncer que era el plasmocitoma, el 4 de marzo del 2019. 

El tratamiento para combatir el plasmocitoma necesitó 20 sesiones de radio terapia. Después de que se completaron las terapias el dolor paso del lado derecho de la cintura al lado izquierdo. los exámenes y biopsia el doctor revelaron que él cancer había evolucionado a Myeloma Multiple. rápidamente el doctor empezó con un plan mas fuerte y le empezaron a hacer quimioterapias. este tipo de cancer no tiene cura pero el tratamiento le puede mejorar su calidad de vida y nosotros tenerla y disfrutarla más tiempo. El transplante de células madres va a tomar lugar en Noviembre y va a requerir estar hospitalizada como mínimo 20 días. después de esto va a tener que estar bajos cuidados rigurosos mientras sus defensas vuelven a la normalidad. El tiempo de recuperación va ser critico para andar a prevenir cualquier complicación. 

Mi Mama es una persona con un gran corazón que quiere mucho a sus familiares y a sus amigos. Una persona que siempre piensa en los demás antes que en ella, ella es alguien que es muy alegre. Durante este tiempo se a sentido muy impotente al no poder trabajar, ya que toda la vida a sido una persona tan trabajadora. Ella  no estaba supuesta a continuar trabajando pero ella continuo hasta que la pudimos convencer y después el doctor le ordeno no trabajar. Mi mama siempre a cumplido con las labores de ama de casa y de mama trabajadora, una persona que a dado todo por nosotros, para darnos la mejor vida posible. Mi madre es una de las personas mas cariñosas y atentas que yo he conocido. 

Los próximos meses van hacer financieramente difíciles ya que ella no va poder trabajar por mucho tiempo y tenemos muchos gastos adicionales. Por eso necesitamos de tu ayuda. Con tus contribuciones podremos cubrir gastos del tratamiento y gastos del día a día que ayudaría a aliviar ciertas preocupaciones.  Los últimos 10 meses nos a cambiado la vida pero tenemos muchas esperanzas que el procedimiento le va a alargar la vida y la vamos a poder disfrutar por muchos años mas.
