Adolph Moreno Stage 4 Cancer Treatments

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

About a month ago my dad, Adolph, was diagnosed with cancer.

He went into urgent care for a lingering cough that began right around the time the earthquakes occurred in early July. He thought it was from going into a dusty, damaged building at work to retrieve some personal belongings. What they found was a tumor on his lung. Further inspection revealed that it was indeed cancerous. By sheer serendipity (or Holy Spirit orchestration) him and my mom were reconnected with someone they had prayed for a few years prior who was, at the time, dying of cancer. They learned this person is living and thriving after they found a doctor named Dr. Nezami based in Newport Beach who does cutting-edge immunotherapy cancer treatment. My dad immediately got the information and made an appointment.

He has gone through 2 weeks of this therapy already and the tests have confirmed that the kidney cancer he had 10 years ago has returned. His kidney was removed but the cancer has come back in the same spot with a vengeance and metastasized to his lung and is now also in his blood. This type of kidney cancer is very aggressive and is now advanced to stage 4. With conventional treatment, the outcome would be bleak and he would maybe only have 8 months left. Thankfully, Dr. Nezami has treated this type of cancer before and will continue any treatment that works (including conventional medicine if necessary) until the cancer is eradicated, though we don’t know how long that will be.

Unfortunately these treatments are not covered by insurance and cost roughly $1200/day. My parents have already run through their savings and wracked up their credit card in order to cover the initial treatments. My dad is no longer able to work due to having to be in Newport Beach for his treatments 5 days out of the week and has filed for short-term disability for now. However, even when paired with the minor income from my mom’s bakery, it will not be enough to cover all the expenses.

My desire is that my parents finances are well taken care of in this season and that they get blessed in return 10-fold what they’ve poured out to others. They’ve always given what they could, even opening their doors to strangers who could give nothing in return, and giving when they had nearly nothing to give. They’ve blessed so many in this community and I believe this community is ready to bless them back.

We are so thankful for the prayers and support we are already receiving, they really have made a huge impact on us thus far. And now what would be most helpful is your generosity. Thank you in advance for your financial support. Every little bit helps.

With love,

Elysia and the Moreno family
