Adam was involved in this horrific accident on May 24, 2019. He is still fighting for a kidney and now all the injuries from this accident. He continues daily now with dialysis. This is putting a strain on his care and treatment in the hospital, as precautions have to be taken due to timing . He has had two of many surgeries along with rehabilitation to follow...We continue to pray for strength and guidance in the great hands at Stanford Medical Center.

My nephew Adam Davis McLaughlin, 26 years old, resides in Paso Robles, California. His story begins when he was 6 months old. Adam was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure, and between 6 months and 4 years of age he endured numerous surgical procedures. At  5, his mother donated one of her kidneys and it has served him well for the past 21 years. In summer of 2016, he contracted Valley Fever. The virus adversely affected his one kidney which is critically functioning between 19% and 21% and will continue to diminish.  Adam frequently travels to and  from Stanford for treatment, and takes medication daily. He is now on the list anxiously awaiting the proper match  for his 2nd transplant. He fights to keep his spirit high for his spouse, Shyla and their 5 year old son Jaxson who loves his father dearly. Please join us in helping Adam with his medical expenses so that he may be able to enjoy life with his family. Adam and his family appreciate the continous support he is receiving.

Here is the latest update for ADAM..he is home with his family tonight after having his first dialysis treatment. Doctors determined that his one kidney is not operating efficiently and is at only 10%. He will be receiving dialysis treatments a couple times a week while he waits for the right donor match. Although this is a rough time for the family they are staying positive. Please keep them in your prayers. They appreciate all the support.

As of today.. Adam anxiously awaits a kidney match!
He is currently at 15% kidney function. There is an established criteria for perspective donors. Interested family and friends will then go through the testing process. He is hoping for that match before having to be placed on dialysis.

Adam just returned from 2 days at Stanford for more testing...to find out more on status of getting a transplant. He is still waiting on his results of kidney function at this point. He will be returning to Stanford in 2 weeks and again in March. This is to get the matching criteria established and on placement for an active donor. If Adam is unable to get a kidney in time he will be put on dialysis.
Thanks so much for your support.
