Adam and Lisa's Flood Damage

On August 5th, 2017, a torrential downpour dropped several inches of water over the city of New Orleans in only a few hours. We've weathered downpours before, but this one was different- this time, the floodwaters rose to over 8" inside the downstairs porton of our raised shotgun double rental.
While we have renter's insurance, we do not anticipate that it will cover all of our losses, including the dumpster we will have to rent to haul away the unsalvaegable items, or the time Lisa missed from work while the floodwaters were rising and she could not safely get to the French Quarter.
This hits us at an incredibly financially vulnerable time, as Lisa's work is tourism-based, and tourism always slows down in the summer regardless.
Friends near and far have been asking how they can help. For those near, we need help sorting through damaged items and hauling them away, very quickly. For those at a distance, any monetary help you can provide will help keep us afloat (pun intended) as we weather this crisis (I'll stop now).

I am Lisa Andresen, the "Lisa" in this campaign I live and work in New Orleans, Louisiana and was directly impacted by rising floodwaters on August 5th, 2017. My husband is Adam Terrell, The "Adam" in this campaign.
The funds we have collected will be used for the following purposes:
1) To offset the losses generated by Lisa's inability to work this August due to health issues/ disaster, so that we can stay financially solvent in a difficult part of the year (estimated $400.00 including tour fees and tips)
2) to cover the immediate expenses related to our recovery, that insurance may or may not eventually reimburse us for, but which we literally di not havbe the funds to cover independently at this moment (estimated $600 for selves and other storage supplies, cleaning supplies, Damp Rid, equipment rentals to clean accumilated water out of our car, plus sundries)
