Thank you friends and family! With your help we were able to raise $3,970 to bring Juandalyn Bridges from Mississippi to Indiana! The money was used towards the following expenses:
- $4,650 for medical transport;
- $179 for flight and hotel room for one daughter (nurse) to travel from Indiana to New Orleans, LA;
- $150 for rental car for daughter to travel from New Orleans, LA to Biloxi, MS.
On Wednesday night, July 24th, Juanie started the journey. She arrived the next afternoon and is a resident at a facility close to most of her children and their growing families. As you can see, they have been visiting and leaving pictures. Juanie is surrounded by her children and the grandchildren she has never met.

Original Story: Twelve years ago, Juanie, a divorced mother to seven children, experienced a life-threatening asthma attack that left her in a coma. When this happened, her mother, a retired nurse, brought Juanie to her home in Mississippi so that Juanie's children could continue their education in South Bend. Their education was one of Jaunie's highest priorities. Being separated from their mom was difficult but the extended family convinced them this was for the best. Unfortunately, Juanie’s mother has become seriously ill and doctors say she cannot safely care for Juanie anymore. In the short term, Juanie has been temporarily moved to a skilled nursing home in another city along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Juanie’s children want to return mom to South Bend, IN where most of them live but they need the money to transport her. Juanie has been accepted to a facility in South Bend. The arranged transport company and travel attendants will cost $4,695. Timing is critical and transport is scheduled on or about July 21. One of Juanie’s daughters is a nurse and will travel to Mississippi and attend to her Mom on the journey home to South Bend.
Please help bring Juanie home to her children and grandchildren.
