Meet Jaxson,
Our son is a sweet, shy, and quiet 3 year old boy from the village of Frankfort, IL who loves Paw Patrol, and playing with his older brother, and two older sisters.
In April 2018, it was discovered that Jaxson developed a tumor in his right eye, which turned out to be retinoblastoma. Jaxson had to have his right eye removed followed with six rounds of chemo to avoid brain cancer, and any other complications. Following successful surgery, the outlook for Jaxson was excellent. Jaxson was accepted for a trip to Disney World in May through Make a Wish foundation, which will have be postponed.
Only a few short months after Jaxson had completed his treatment in November, we received heartbreaking news that Jaxson was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. This time cancer involvement was found to be in the right eye socket, jaw, right femur, liver, and bone marrow. The treatment will involve several standard chemo cycles with weekly outpatient rounds and an inpatient stay every three weeks. This will then be followed with stem cell harvesting to be used during several aggressive chemo treatments with stem cell recovery. Radiation will also be used as part of the treatment. This will require Jaxson to be hospitalized for extended periods of time as well as frequent visits to the hospital. With the time that we will spend away from work and the growing medical bills, our family is now facing a financial hardship. But no matter what we will continue to work with the doctors of Children's Hope Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL and Comers at University of Chicago, to give Jaxson the best chance at beating this.
Jaxson's family at home is made up of 6; myself, his mother Allison, his older brother Logan (6) and his two older sisters Kennedy (7) & Makenzie(9). These donations will help us maintain our home, and most importantly to provide Jaxson with the necessary quality of life it will take to fight this battle. We love you Jaxson!
