Accidental Death of John Couturier

Hi my name is Melissa Gauthier. I'm the granddaughter of John Couturier and truthfully his last living relative. Unfortuntley at his age and only living off of a pension all on his own he had no life insurance because he could not afford it. Like all of us, my grandfather believed that he had all the time in the world. He never put money away for funeral expenses because he just didnt have it.. this is now my second funeral I've had to plan with no will/money.. I just started back to college in September I have 2 kids of my own and a home I'm trying to keep together.. I'm asking for any help I can get.. I have chosen some other places for donations as well if someone doesnt feel comfortable donating to this cause..(heart and stroke or robbie dean family counseling center would be very appreciative) He was a very stubborn man but such a huge heart he would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger.  My mother died 8 years ago, unexpected as well and since then he has really struggled..  He was such a fighter.. he had a letter come in to him in August from the city of Pembroke (see posted photo) stating he had to clean his place or they would and add taxes onto his mortgage OR they could have it "demolished" .. he was 83 years old and basically being told that unless he has money hes about to have his home taken from him EVEN THOUGH he pays his mortgage.. in the end he had nothing, and was not the type to ask friends for help.. he thought he could fix the roof himself tragedy struck and he had an accident. His smile could light up a room. From postal man to baseball coach to having his own bicycle shop and ice cream shop, ice cream bikes, french fry truck, to most recent- hot dog stand... he was always busy, jack of all trades and definitely thought he was still 40 years old, that he could still do all of this and he did, he never stopped going! This man was such a fighter, such an AMAZING grandfather to myself and great grandfather to my 2 children amazing husband to my grandmother and father to my mom.  What I'm asking for today, is for any help I can get to help with funeral costs that I have been left with His pension can not do anything as there is no living spouse or immediate children under 18 yrs old.. there is no money or life Insurance policy. I'm also posting a photo of the expenses for the funeral to show. Whatever money is left over I personally will donate to the Robbie Dean Center of Pembroke Ontario. Thank you very much.
