Accident Victim Needs Just a Little Help

Andrew “Andy” Kelley was diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus and has been injecting his own insulin treatment since he was almost 4 years old.  He has never complained and he has never used that medical condition as a “disability”.  He is now 53 years old and has been employed all his life, a provider for his close and extended family.  He is the “go to” alpha male for his step children, friends and even – at times – his parents.

Last week he was involved in an accident that propelled him off the top of a tanker rail car resulting in a broken back, crushed disk, bone shards into his spinal column and surgery in an attempt to allow him to walk again.  He will be in hospital and physical therapy for an extended time.  It is NOT a sure thing that his partial paralysis will be corrected.  Meanwhile, his bills don’t stop, his mortgage payments are expected on time, his wife still has to eat and somehow come up with the funds to buy food; working over-time; for this; and to pay for the extra travel expenses to see and encourage her husband.

Neither Andy nor his wife, Donna, want to become a “charity” or dependent on the good will of others.  So what!  They need help and I hope you will consider a Christmas present of whatever money you feel you can spare for this couple.
