Hello,
The Acadia Axemen Baseball team is part of the Acadia Athletics High-Performance Club Teams and is a current member of the Atlantic Division in the UBaseball/Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association. The spirit and sport of baseball at Acadia is as rooted as the University itself. Baseball has been played at Acadia as early as 1878, and Baseball at Acadia being a varsity sport until the 1950's.
After a hiatus of Baseball for over a decade at Acadia, the Acadia Baseball Program was resurrected in 2014 by a business student who wanted to play ball. In their first game in recent league history, founder David Pilat threw a no-hitter in the Axemen's first bout.
In the years since, the team has been growing off the successes from each year prior, with gaining depth in terms of our playing abilities, gaining national interest from prospective players, and support from our local communities.
This past October, the Acadia Baseball Team was fortunate enough to attend the Canadian University World Series, held in Ottawa, ON. The Axemen were able to help represent the Atlantic Division of the UBaseball League with their 3rd straight National Championship appearance. The Axemen have recently finished as National Semi-Finalists in the 2017 National Championship.
In addition to our annual Youth Baseball Camps and other fundraising initiatives, we ask that you consider to help support the Acadia Baseball Program. The funds generated will help go towards some of the operational costs of the team, as well as to help eliminate some of the travel and accommodation expenses from our trip to Ottawa.
Your support will help ensure the continuation of the program for years to come, help provide the chance for students to gain leadership skills, achieve personal growth, get involved with their surrounding communities, develop a brotherhood amongst their peers, all while playing a sport they love.
