Abek Community Development Program-USA (ACDP-USA) is privileged to inform and invite you and your family to its upcoming fundraising event in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 24, 2018. This will be our major fundraising for school construction. Not only do we invite you, we are asking for your generous financial donation to our cause.
We are raising funds to support the construction of a Primary School in Dong, South Sudan. Dong of Abek, dubbed as “Dong D’Abek” is a home to diverse people across the State of Jonglei. Due to its centrality, it brings people from as far as Duk and Bor, not to mention Twi, to keep their cattle herds safe from insecurity and for good pastures and water. As a result, many families move and stay around Dong areas for the most parts throughout the years. Without a school, the children are left to have no access to education. Therefore, the people of Abek at home have agreed that a good school will claim our children back from illiteracy. The ACDP-USA was founded on the mission to empower our people through education and this project is to the core of our mission.
As the great Chinese saying goes; “give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a Lifetime,” we envision empowering our children through education will be a lifetime empowerment. This is what you are painting your footprint on by donating to this important & noble cause of building a Primary School in Dong.
Your help is highly needed today. Your immediate response is essential because our children are losing great opportunity in their lives, an event we will painfully and collectively regret in the future. We are losing a generation to lack of education. It is said that “knowledge is power” because it empowers individuals and helps them make more informed life decisions. Would you please help empower our children today?

$300-$499 Diamond
$150-$299 Silver
$100-$199 Bronze
Lastly, please, send in your donation the soonest you can and by the end of the second week of March, 2018, the latest, if you will. If you are not planning to attend, please, send us your donation to Amer Dau Jok (Secretary of the Fundraising committee) at 4171 Oak Park Dr SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508 or send to her through Walmart to Walmart. You can also give your support to any Abek member who resides in your City with you. If you are attending, you can also send your donation in advance or call any of the listed individuals below and tell them your pledge that is coming with you. We want to be able to plan better and gather important data as we embark on this great cause and we will deeply appreciate your assistance. NB: Some of the data we are collecting will help us shorten the length of time fundraising events usually take and to make the event more relaxed and spiced with fun.
