Team Timma

Tim was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on 1/1/16. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. His team of oncologists report that he will likely be at EMMC for over a month receiving treatment. Treatment is divided into two phases: induction (to attain remission) and post-remission (to maintain remission).  Tim began induction chemotherapy on 1/2/16. The induction phase of chemotherapy lasts for 7 days and Tim is currently on day 7.  Given that there are no guarantees regarding the course of Tim's treatment, he will most likely need a bone marrow transplant which will occur in Boston at a later date. Efforts are also underway to coordinate a local donor drive in the community. More info to follow. His team of oncologists have placed him on the national bone marrow donor list, given that there are no immediate family members who are candidates as a donor match.
