Gretchen Tuttle's surgery

Gretchen is 3 years old. She has hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation and a cyst on her brain. She needs to have brain surgery in order to drain fluid from her brain and reduce pressure as she currently has an adult size head which is still growing. She could soon develop issues ranging from mental retardation to difficulty walking and talking. We plan to go to Boston children's hospital for Gretchen's surgery of endoscopic third ventriculostomy where they carefully poke a hole in her brain that will allow the fluid in her brain to better drain.
