My Cancer Fund

I have stage 4 colon cancer. I am undergoing chemotherapy, and it is going well. However, the copays and deductibles from my health insurance are very expensive, and I do not make very much money. I am getting assistance from friends and family, as well as financial aid from various cancer support groups, but they can only do so much. With this in mind, I am forced to seek alternative means of supporting myself.

A bit about me: I am a direct care professional in a group home for the handicapped. I love my job and plan to do it for the rest of my life. Other than that, I'm a pretty chill guy. I play tabletop RPGs, video games, love Marvel superhero movies, and I hang out with my friends whenever I can.

Please understand, I'm not fond of resorting to this method of fundraising. I'm not an overly proud man, but it's still hard for me to ask strangers for money. I don't even know how much I might need, so I just threw out a number.

As an example of my situation, the copay for any visit to a specialist is $50. I get chemo once every two weeks. I also get a booster shot to aid my immune system, but I can't get that until after the chemo is over, which counts as a separate visit. This is another $50 every two weeks. That's $200 a month, and that's not even counting doctor and surgeon visits, as well as random things like visits to the ER ($125 copay), which has happened twice in the last two months.

Add to that my other living expenses, and you can see how difficult this can be for me. Sadly, they do not pay direct support very much in my state, and so I continue to struggle in spite of working even while sick.

I've never done this before, I have no idea how it works. I can't offer much in response to donations other than my contiued gratitude and updates that show how your money is helping me. Please give whatever you feel is appropriate, and I will be eternally grateful.
